COLORADO SPRINGS – According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, between Sept. 21st and Dec. 4th, 17 armed robberies were committed by the same suspect in the Colorado Springs area.
The robberies all occurred at convenience stores and fast food restaurants. During two of them, the suspect fired a handgun.
CSPD said detectives developed probable cause to arrest 34-year-old Cody Crocker in connection to the crimes.
On Dec. 10th, the CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit assisted detectives in taking Crocker into custody without incident. At the time of Crocker’s arrest, 28-year-old Damien Frencl was contacted and found to be in possession of an illegal, schedule II narcotic. CSPD said it was discovered that Frencl was also involved in some of the robberies, and he was subsequently charged for his participation in four of the crimes.
Crocker has been charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, 16 counts of aggravated robbery, and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.
