PUEBLO – Witnesses to a robbery and assault are being credited with helping the Pueblo police arrest a suspect just after midnight on Saturday morning.

Just before midnight, officers and emergency responders were called to the intersection of Lake and Joliet on the report of an assault and possible robbery. They arrived to find a bloodied male who, along with his female companion, had been beaten by at least 2 other people.  The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say thanks to the help of witnesses, they were able to find and arrest one of the male suspects. They are working to locate the other person or persons involved in the attack.

The condition of the victims is unknown this morning and their names have not been released.
