MONUMENT — Every year since 2005 Monument Police Chief Jacob Shirk has been gathering donations from the Tri-Lakes community to hand-deliver toys to kids in the area who might not otherwise see any gifts for Christmas.

On December 22nd, Chief Shirk will suit up as Santa, and drive across areas of Monument, Palmer Lake and Woodmoor in decorated police vehicles and fire trucks, stopping to visit families and deliver gifts.

This year Chief Shirk says their donations are still a bit low to serve those in need, and he’s asking for folks to help out as much as they can.

Any new, unwrapped toys or gift cards can be dropped off at the Monument Police Department, any Tri-Lakes fire station, the Monument Walmart or Monument YMCA until December 21st.
