FORT CARSON – Fort Carson will continue ceremonies honoring George H.W. Bush Thursday with two separate cannon salutes.

Soldiers will fire a 21-cannon salute with one-minute intervals at noon, and they’ll fire a 50-cannon salute at 5-second intervals at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Mountain Post closed all 4th infantry division offices Wednesday in accordance with the National Day of Mourning issued by President Trump.

Flags were lowered to half-staff on Monday and they will remain lowered for 26 more days to honor the nation’s 41st president.

Bush died last Friday at his home in Houston.
