COLORADO SPRINGS – A pedestrian is recovering from minor injuries after they stepped out into traffic and were struck by a dark-colored SUV at about 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The SUV left the scene and police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to please contact them at 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-7867.
The southbound lanes of Academy Blvd. were closed down for an investigation and after that was completed, the pedestrian was ticketed for attempting to cross the roadway illegally.
The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
