A cherished holiday tradition is back and you can join in at the third annual Manitou Springs Christmas Parade.

Join all of us at News 5 for some Christmas cheer this evening.

Considered the first major holiday events in the Pikes Peak Region, the Manitou Springs Parade never fails to kick off the Christmas season. This years line up includes nearly 50 entries and a very special guest!

“There’s families marching in the parade, there’s a couple entries from the coffin races that are all decked out for the holidays and of course our Grand Marshall every year and the last entry in the parade is Santa Claus on his fire truck,” said Parade Chairman John O’Donnell.

Everyone is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy in the parade to donate Toys for Tots. Volunteers will be marching in the parade to collect those donations.

News 5 is a proud sponsor of the parade. In fact, you’ll see some of the morning crew out there tonight.

The parade starts at 6 P.M. but you should get there about a half hour early to park. The parade begins at Ruxton Avenue and will wrap at El Paso Blvd.

There’s several options for parking! You can park at Memorial Park or pick a spot anywhere along Manitou Avenue, El Paso Boulevard, and Canon Avenue.

Parking will be free on Manitou Avenue after 6 P.M. but keep in mind you’ll have to leave your car there until the parade is finished.

There’s also a parking garage adjacent to the Stage Coach Inn.
