FLORENCE – An inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary in Florence died Sunday following an early morning fight. Prison officials say 37-year-old Maxie Graham was the only person injured in the event.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Graham was serving a 7-year sentence out of Maryland for distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute heroin. He started serving his sentence at the high security facility in southern Colorado this past February.
