COLORADO SPRINGS- With winter approaching, now is the time to get signed up if you need help paying heating bills.

There are several programs in Colorado to help those with covering the cost of keeping the heat on during winter months.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program, or LEAP, starts signing up customers on November 1st.

Colorado Springs Utilities also has ways to help.

“At Colorado Springs Utilities we have our own assistance program called Project COPE. If people want to know more about that, I encourage them to call 2-1-1, Pikes Peak United Way, and they will find out exactly what is available for them,” said April Speake with Colorado Springs Utilities.
