COLORADO SPRINGS – A Colorado Springs business owner is asking for help in catching the suspects who targeted his bike shop this week.

The suspects broke through steel shutters, smashing a window and eventually stealing a $3,500 mountain bike. This happened at the Criterium Bike Shop on Corporate Drive.

Now, the owner says he will have to pay for the cost of repairs and install a new security system. “It comes out of my pocket. Insurance isn’t going to cover that because we, with a business, the deductibles are higher than individual insurance, and if you do make a claim, you’re rates go up, so you’ve just got to eat it,” said owner Nic Ponsor.

Ponsor also said the loss makes it harder for him to provide jobs and a livable wage for employees.

If you know anything about the robbery that can help in the investigation call Colorado Springs Police at 444-7000.
