PUEBLO – Pueblo County social services are gearing up to help needy families as we head into the holiday season and they’re asking for some extra help.

The county runs the USDA food bank and they need volunteers to help get food into the hands of the people who need it. The food bank gives out more than two million pounds of food every year. The volunteers help prepare boxes, make calls and several other things that need to be done to make this happen.

Pueblo County Program Director Tanya Gurule, says they are serving their community and unfortunately, there are some food desserts in the county. She says they’re working to serve the needs of all of their customers.

If you would like to volunteer and be part of the program, call 719-553-3432.
