PUEBLO – Some parents are upset after they say the state health department gave their kids flyers about marijuana during the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo.

The flyers were included in gift bags handed out to kids participating in the 4-H Youth Livestock Show and included messages like ‘take an edible; take it easy; keep your stash safe and sound.’

Considering children aren’t legally allowed to use marijuana, parents say they don’t understand why they were in the bags.

One parent likened the message to letting children know the best and safest way to drink vodka.

The Colorado Department of Public Health says this was all a mistake and they were intended only to go to adults.
