COLORADO SPRINGS — Mother's Day during COVID-19 is bringing with it an increased demand to local florists.
"It's been busy," Brian Wilgus, owner of My Floral Shop said, "phones running off the hook, internet's gone crazy, matter fact we had to just stop taking orders."
Wilgus says he's working with a reduced staff because of the time their business closed during the state's stay at home order.
Additionally, there's been an issue of supply because many of their floral suppliers weren't able to send as much flowers with limited air travel. Wilgus says some suppliers have only stopped in Denver instead of coming to Colorado Springs, which has also had an impact on the amount of flowers they're able to sell.
