PUEBLO COUNTY – The Pueblo County Beekeepers Association says this time of year, when the weather starts to get warmer, is the best time to be a beekeeper.

The drought conditions also aren’t too bad which is good news for bees because more flowers will be blooming.

“But now is the time to be getting into your hives and checking them and seeing what the condition is and how they over winter and what resources we need to get them for honey production this summer,” said Beekeepers Association President Rick Martinez.

The Association also wants to remind people that if you see a swarm of bees you shouldn’t approach them. Instead, call the Beekeepers Association.
