This weekend is going to be great for skiing and boarding in the high country, and it will have something for everyone!

If you love freshly groomed runs, Saturday is your best bet. It will be sunny and mild with highs in the mid-30s at most locations around the state.

Sunday is going to be a great day to enjoy some fresh powder in the high country, but the drive home to the Front Range could be treacherous.

Resorts in southwest Colorado will be the biggest winners from this storm, but most ski areas will see snow from this storm over the course of the week.

The First Alert 5 weather team is expecting seven inches to fall in Crested Butte on Sunday alone, Breckenridge and Keystone will both see at least two inches. Other resorts further to the east will see less snow but still will have snow falling beginning early on Sunday.

If you go, make sure you’re ready to comply with traction and chain laws on I-70 if you’re traveling to any of the Summit County resorts.
