In wake of 2018 wildfires, low-cost trees available for landowners

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado State Forest Service is helping landowners affected by fires this year is get low cost seedling trees and shrubs.

The trees are no available as a part of the 2019 Trees for Conservation seedling tree program. It helps landowners impacted by recent fires to replace damaged or lost trees. The seedlings can also be used for conservation and land rehabilitation.

The program serves landowners in Custer, El Paso, Fremont, Park, Teller, Huerfano and Las Animas counties.

The deadline to order seedlings or shrubs is April 4, 2019, but you are advised to order early while there is still a wide selection available. Orders made by April 4 will be available for pickup at field offices in late April or Early May.
