MANITOU SPRINGS – An annual tradition in Manitou Springs, the Emma Crawford Coffin Race will be held this weekend.
Race day is Saturday, October 27, 2018 and kicks off at noon with the Coffin and Hearse parade. The race is immediately after the parade.
Race organizers said in a news release they expect as many as 10,000 people to be at the event.
Because of the influx of people heading into the town, organizers are asking spectators to arrive several hours early and to take advantage of several different ways to get to the heart of Manitou Springs without driving:
- Park at Rockledge Ranch (3105 Gateway Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80904) and ride the free shuttle and take complimentary shuttles that run continuously from 9am-6pm on race day.
- Park at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort and bike to the races. 2 El Paso Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. Bicycle valet located in Memorial Park or lock up at one of many bike racks around town.

Following the race, there will be a party in Soda Springs Park, with food, a beer garden and entertainment.
