COLORADO SPRINGS – Governor Jared Polis says there are a lot of your neighbors going hungry across the state, and he’s asking for your help.
Gov. Polis is urging everyone to contribute to one of the five statewide food banks. Care and Share Food Bank serves Southern Colorado and they’re on board with encouraging donations.
“We’re really excited that the Governor would take an interest in our work and really highlight the issue of hunger in Colorado,” said Lynne Telford, CEO, Care and Share.
Telford says this is a delicate time after the partial government shutdown, that issues with food stamps and back pay still exist.
