Today’s Forecast:

Mostly sunny and pleasant around southern Colorado today.  The mountains will see a scattered chance for an afternoon shower or brief thunderstorm.  The far Eastern Plains, near the Kansas border, have a slight risk of Severe Thunderstorms in the later afternoon.  Once they develop, they will quickly race east into Kansas.  By the early evening, all the active weather will subside as the sun sets.  Otherwise, the remainder of us will experience mostly sunny conditions and a mild afternoon with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 70; Low – 42. Sunny skies with afternoon clouds, slight chance for a PM shower.

PUEBLO: High – 76; Low – 40.  Mostly sunny skies with light winds.

CANON CITY: High – 74; Low – 42. Mostly sunny, light winds and warm temps.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 60; Low – 34. Partly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower.

TRI-LAKES: High – 60s; Low – 30s. Sunny with afternoon clouds, slight chance for afternoon shower.

PLAINS: High – 60/70s; Low – 40s. Slight risk of Severe Storms near KS border, otherwise partly cloudy.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60s; Low – 40s. Sunny skies with afternoon clouds.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

Sunday and Monday look to be even warmer as our temperatures firmly take hold in the 70s and 80s under mostly sunny skies.  I can’t rule out a slight chance for an afternoon thunderstorm each day due to springtime conditions and daytime heating, but it’s not a threat to any outdoor activities you may have planned.

Tuesday is when we’ll see a change in our weather pattern with colder temps and grey skies with an on-and-off chance of rain for the remainder of the week.  Enjoy the nice weather this weekend!
