PUEBLO — Pueblo police in partnership with multiple local and federal agencies will be holding a press conference Thursday morning to discuss operation “Double Dippin” which has been underway for more than 2 years.

Pueblo police say the investigation started in February of 2017 that involved members of the Southern Colorado Drug Task-Force comprised of members of the DEA, Pueblo Police, Pueblo County Sheriff’s office, El Paso County Sheriff’s office, Colorado Springs Police Department, Teller County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security.

The investigation focused largely on distribution cells in Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver connected to Phoenix and the Payan Drug Trafficking Organization based in Mexico.

The ring was known to distribute heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine among several states, including Colorado.

As a result of the investigation the Colorado State Attorney General and Pueblo District Attorney have indicted 65 people, 40 who have been charged and arrested.

In addition, investigators have also seized cash totaling $1.25 million, 7 vehicles, 31 guns, and hundreds of pounds of illegal narcotics.
