COLORADO SPRINGS – In their next to last game in the regular season the Avalanche were able to clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday night.
The Avs were able to get the one point they needed by coming back from a two-goal deficit to secure the second wild-card spot. They now trail the Dallas Stars by two games for the first wild-card spot. It’s the second year in a row they will be making an appearance in the postseason, and the first time they’ve done that since the 2005-2006 season.
