We all know how time consuming it can be to get out the door and sometimes waiting on the school bus is the last thing you want to worry about.

One school district has the solution! District 49 is taking advantage of the Safe Stop App. It lets parents track the bus from the comfort of your home, so you know exactly what time the bus is coming.

Here’s how it works! Once parents sign up for the app, it will track your bus to the very stop your kids are getting picked up at. Of course, it’s all via GPS.

If there are any unexpected changes that morning parents will get an alert to their phones. This is especially helpful in bad weather.

“If it’s more than ten minutes late we shoot an alert to all the parents that have signed up for that particular spot or that particular route,” explained District 49’s Administrative Assistant to Transportation Cecelia Catherwood.

The app is free for parents but the District pays a fee. This is District 49’s second year using the app. In fact, they were one of the first districts in the state to start using it.

If you’re a parent with District 49 all you have to do is sign up! If you’re a school admin or even a parent interested in bringing this app to your district here’s the details you need to bring the app to your school.
