MONUMENT – A crash between a semi-truck and a car has resulted in two people being killed on Highway 105 east of Monument.
The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a double fatal crash in the area of Highway 105 and Sierra Way, east of Monument. Highway 105 is currently closed in both directions for the investigation. pic.twitter.com/kd4m4fyS2X

State Patrol says the driver of a 2002 Acura was headed west on Hwy. 105 when he lost control and was broadsided by an oncoming semi truck.
The driver of the Acura and a female passenger both died at the scene, troopers say neither was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Hwy 105 was closed for hours during the investigation, it’s still not clear what led up to the deadly crash.
The names of those who died have not yet been released, pending family notification. This accident is one of multiple deadly crashes investigated by State Patrol since Christmas Day.
