COLORADO SPRINGS – It was a snow day to start the week for some kids across southern Colorado.

In Colorado Springs that means no school and sledding for some.

News 5 caught up with some sledders taking in the fresh snow at Cottonwood Park on Monday.

Some sledders said a day to play is fun, but you can’t always count on getting a day off from school every time it snows.

“We would like to have snow days more often,” said Alex Torres from Jenkins Middle School. “But with testing for district schools, that is not going to happen, not for many of us.”

Sledders told us that they like Cottonwood Park because it has a slope for everyone.
