COLORADO – In today’s competitive job market, hiring the right person can make a big difference.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has declared November of 2018 as “Hire a Vet First Month.”

Organizations that help transitioning vets get jobs say raising awareness to the benefits of hiring ex-military is very important.

“So many veterans start off at entry-level positions and excel faster than their counterparts, and it’s truly a test of the values that they were indoctrinated to while they were in the service,” said Daniel Martinez of the Mt. Carmel Service Center.

The people at Mt. Carmel said Colorado Springs is a popular place for vets to look for work. They added that many vets have family members also seeking employment.
