ORLANDO, Fla. – A 21-year-old man from central Texas is in federal custody as the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department in Florida says they stopped his horrific plan to target a child.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey says one of his agents discovered Alexander Barter online, then set up a meet in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The undercover agent posed as someone willing to provide a child to satisfy what Barter allegedly called his “bloodlust”, according to NBC affiliate WESH.
“He showed up with a knife, with bags to take the individual body parts in. This is just a sick, demented individual that’s masquerading as a human being out there, preying on our children,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.
Ivey says the man wanted to murder, rape, then eat his victim.
Barter, of Joaquin, Texas, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and other crimes.
