EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has announced the latest class of deputies has graduated from the 18-1 Detentions Academy.
The graduation ceremony was held for the 20 deputies Friday, Oct. 19th at Centennial Hall.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputies completed a 320-hour Detentions Academy that was developed to prepare and equip the deputies with the knowledge and tools to work in a jail environment.
The deputies gained these skills and knowledge through a comprehensive, efficient, and effective detention specific training program that included 160 hours of academic training, 80 hours of arrest control and 80 hours of firearms training.
