This weekend the Veterans Rally returns to Cripple Creek with thousands of motorcyclists expected in town for the event to show their support for active duty military, veterans, and POW-MIA.

Events kicking off Friday include, the traveling Vietnam Memorial, a POW-MIA remembrance ceremony and recognition ride, Wild West gunfighters, aircraft flyovers, veteran’s poker run, a veteran’s parade, free concerts and plenty of food and drink vendors.

The Vietnam Memorial Wall is already set up for display at Cripple Creek High School, available to visit 24 hours a day. You’ll find the Veterans Memorial Wall (ready for your signature) inside the Park & Recreation building. The poker run gets underway Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Whether you’re taking part in the event or just plan to be in the area, keep in mind that there may be traffic delays due to so many veterans on motorcycles making the run on Colorado 67 between Woodland Park and Cripple Creek. You’ll also see increased traffic along Highway 24.

Take your time, be patient, be safe, and of course show your appreciation for their service.
