Just after 11:00 p.m. Friday night, multiple Pueblo P.D. officers responded to E. Northern and Santa Fe Drive to speak to a woman who reported her boyfriend was going to jump off a bridge.

When officers arrived, they spoke to the woman who said she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument at the Mesa Drive-In before the man left on foot. She said her boyfriend called her soon after leaving and said he was going to jump off a bridge.

Police said the man then called her again and said he had jumped. The man also said he thought he’d broken his back and leg.

Officers eventually found the man on Acero Avenue and according to them, the man had clearly not jumped from a bridge.

Pueblo P.D. said the man was cited for causing a false report to be made and the couple went their separate ways for the night.
