Pueblo County deputies arrest barricaded suspect

Pueblo County deputies arrested a 34-year-old man who they say threatened his wife with a knife and barricaded himself in a home in Pueblo West Thursday.

Deputies rescued a woman and three children from a home in the 600 block of Clarion Drive around 4 p.m. Thursday. Deputies were dispatched to the home after a 911 call said 34-year-old Jeremy Stinson was threatening a woman inside the home with a large hunting knife.

Deputies said the woman suffered minor injuries when she was attacked, but the children were not hurt.

Authorities said Stinson barricaded himself in a bedroom in the back of the home, where he refused to come out. After deputies broke a window in the bedroom, he surrendered shortly after that.

Stinson was already wanted on two warrants, including escape from community corrections. The was booked into the Pueblo County jail on suspicion of menacing with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, harassment and a restraining order violation.
