A Colorado marijuana dispensary chain donates thousands of dollars to an organization that provides healthcare services for people with disabilities that are not covered by insurance.

Native Roots Dispensary donated more than $25,000 to Chanda Plan Foundation. This is the largest reported donation to the group from a cannabis retailer. The Chanda Plan provides complimentary healthcare services not covered by insurance to people with physical disabilities.

The donation was made to the Colorado-based branch, it is a national organization. The donation came from a June Wellness Month promotion with a portion of the sales of three different marijuana strains were designated for the non-profit. The strains were all high in CBD, which is typically used to manage pain relief as well as reduce inflammation.

"Consider us a Chanda Plan fan," said Ryan Brown, Native Roots CEO in regard to the donation. "Helping our patients and customers take control of their own wellness is an integral part of our industry and we saw a kindred spirit in the Foundation."

"We are so honored that Native Roots picked Chanda Plan Foundation for this opportunity," said Chanda Hinton Leichtle, Executive Director of Chanda Plan Foundation. "This donation is far more than what we imagined and we will be able to impact many individuals because of it."
