People in Fountain are recovering after another bout of heavy rain, high winds, and hail in Monday’s storm.

Many are still recovering from the horrific hail storm that hit the town in June. Now, some are dealing with more damage to their property.

In video provided by Dwayne Lindoerfer, you can see rain pouring into his apartment.

"I went into the back bedroom and I’m sorry to say it was a waterfall."

Monday’s storm in Fountain brought intense rain which forced its way into homes like his.

"I thought the water had messed everything up."

His bedroom wasn’t damaged, but the one next to it was still wet on Tuesday from all the water that seeped through.

"That one got hit the worst. The rain just kept hitting it and hitting it, and hitting it."

Inside that room was a box full of items that belonged to his wife. She passed away just a few months ago.

"Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to really put the important stuff in storage…there was just a box in there that thankfully I was able to pull out."

The good news for Lindoerfer-all the items inside were spared from any water damage.

Maggie Kohn, another Fountain resident impacted by the storm, said, "You almost feel defeated because it’s just one after another and damage after damage."

Her family is still recovering from last month’s devastating hail storm.

"My car was totaled. I had water damage inside…we had to get a new vehicle. Our roof is getting replaced this week."

Monday’s storm was a different kind of beast. She wasn’t home when it rolled through, but her husband was.

"He looks out the window and sees our fence starting to float away."

Thankfully, they were able to grab it before losing it to the flood.

"It’s scary. It’s so scary because you think about what else it could damage and what else it could do."

As she and her family brace for more rain this week, Kohn said, "We put up what we can and at this point it’s like…let it come. There’s nothing else we can do about it."

The hope is that next time they’ll catch a break.

News 5 also learned that some restaurants in Fountain were affected by flooding. On Tuesday they were back to business as usual.
