It’s not just Colorado Springs where police and firefighters are worried about fireworks.

All across Colorado, authorities are stepping up enforcement of fireworks bans, and for good reason.

The video above shows exactly why these bans are in place in many area.

Earlier this week, neighbors and friends had to rush to help a Denver mans whose backyard was ignited by a rogue firework that landed in his backyard. One on-looker pulled out there phone and captured the flames as others worked to put out the fire with sprinklers and buckets of water.

"The only thing that was really worrying me was it getting the gate and heading to the next yard, my neighbor’s yard, and creating a problem for all of us," said Stephan Gilbert, the homeowner.

In the video, you can see the size of the weeds in the yard. This is a prime example of why wildfire preparedness and fire mitigation around your home are imperative, even in the city.
