New disaster assistance center open for people affected by Spring Fire

A new disaster assistance center is open at Centennial school in San Luis for people affected by the Spring Fire. Services are being offered July 3rd, through July 5th, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Other dates will be added as needs and resources are defined.

Officials from Colorado’s Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), Costilla County, Colorado Department of Public Safety, and other agencies will be on hand to answer questions about assistance, resources and services available to those in need. 

You’ll be able to get help obtaining housing assistance and rental resources, as well as guidance on fire recovery. Disaster recovery organization are readily available to help in whatever way they can.

They’re also offering resources for crisis counseling. People coming into the center can get the latest fire information, as well information on road closures, evacuations and pre-evacuations.
