Colorado Springs Police are investigating a fiery crash that left one person dead overnight in Colorado Springs.
The crash happened at the intersection of Academy Blvd. and Shrider Road, just north of Woodmen.
According to police, around 11:15 Thursday night a motorcycle collided with a van. The bike quickly erupted into flames and burned the rider.
The individual riding the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with severe burns and died a short time later.
The deceased individual has yet to be identified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
At this time, it is unclear when northbound Academy will reopen at Shrider Road.
