The Colorado Springs community honored the life of a Taylor White during a service at New Life Church filled with joy and colorful attire.

The 21-year-old was known for spreading love and leaving a lasting impact.

"Taylor loved well when he was on this earth," said mother Angela White.

"So we can continue loving well even though he’s not on this earth, but we know where he’s at so you’re right, it’s not the sadness that people expected to see today."

Friends and family remembered how he took others under his wing and always went the extra mile.

"He was the person that bridged the gap, I just can’t tell you how many kids have reached out and said that, so that’s really the legacy of a person is left by people that followed behind to say ‘this guy changed my life.’"

Earlier this month, police in Phoenix, Arizona say White was out running and was in a crosswalk when he was hit by an SUV and killed.

Whoever hit him then drove off.

His life cut short too soon, before he could walk down the aisle with the love of his life.

"Their wedding would’ve been a week from today," added Angela White.
"That covenant doesn’t change just because we didn’t go through the ceremony. She’s our daughter. "

His fiancee Sarah Tedeschi is still coming to grips with the loss while feeling grateful for the community’s support…

"It’s going to be the hardest thing in my life," said Tedeschi.
"It’s 100 percent going to be the hardest thing but I’m not alone, I have so many people around and I have God."

For this family, the only thing left to do is celebrate their beloved son as their faith keeps moving them moving forward.

"I don’t know how we’re doing this either. It still seems surreal and unreal that this is actually for our son but that peace that passes all understanding, it truly passes all understanding, we don’t understand it but he gives us that peace."

The family tells News 5 they’re imploring this driver to come forward, even though they’ve already forgiven the person or people who may be responsible for Taylor’s death.

The search for this hit-and-run driver is still ongoing and the incident is still an active criminal investigation.
