Wintry blast hangs around Friday, warming this weekend

Today’s Forecast:
Snow tapers off by late morning. Then southern Colorado stays cold and cloudy all day.

Road conditions in southern Colorado are improving, but there are some impacts to be aware of. There is also a crash near 29th street on northbound I-25 that has the left lane blocked. There is also a crash from Central Avenue to Northern Avenue on northbound I-25 in Pueblo that has the right lane blocked.

Northbound I-25 is closed at Ray Nixon Road due to a crash. It's been closed on-and-off throughout the morning. Use an alternate route if you're headed north.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has been working throughout the morning, but snow is still covering roadways. Use caution if you need to be out this morning and be aware of slick road conditions.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 40; Low: 22. Cold and cloudy today with minimal snow melt.

PUEBLO: High: 49; Low: 27. Staying chilly through the day with peeks of sun.

CANON CITY: High: 46; Low: 30. Chilly today with clouds.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 38; Low: 20. Very cold today with snow sticking around on the ground.

TRI-LAKES: High: 30s; Low: 20s. Staying very cold in the mid 30s with clouds.

PLAINS: High: 40s/50s; Low: 20s. Chilly and mostly dry today with mostly cloudy conditions.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 40s/50s; Low: 20s. Cool and cloudy today and staying dry.

Extended Outlook:
Saturday the sky clears up and temperatures begin to rebound, still staying slightly below average. The temperatures fully recover by Sunday and carrying over into next week, where 60s and 70s return.
