**9 am update: A Red Flag Warning has been issued along I-25 and the upper Arkansas river from noon until 8 pm. This includes portions of El Paso, Pueblo, Huerfano, Las Animas, and Fremont counties. Avoid all outdoor burning and dispose of cigarettes properly!**

Today’s Forecast: The weather today gets quite active and will be highly dependent on your location. The afternoon will be about 5 to 10 degrees above average in our area. Dry and windy conditions are expected in the mountains and along the front range. This brings high fire danger to much of Colorado. The Plains start sunny and windy, but a few thunderstorms are possible in the eastern Plains this evening. These may be strong with an isolated severe storm.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 83; Low - 49. Sunny and warm with stronger winds in the afternoon.

PUEBLO: High - 90; Low - 50. Sunny and hot with gustier winds through the afternoon.

CANON CITY: High - 86; Low - 54. Sunny and hot with gusty winds through the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 73; Low - 40. Sunny and nice with gusty winds in the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High - 70s; Low - 40s. Sunny and mild with stronger winds in the afternoon.

PLAINS: High - 80s/90s; Low - 50s. Sunny and hot with a few afternoon scattered thunderstorms possible. There is a low level severe weather threat today, with hail and strong winds being the main threats.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Gusty this afternoon, with sunshine. Temperatures will be warm to the mid to upper 80s.

Extended Outlook: Overnight, a cold front sweeps through southern Colorado. This leaves the weekend with seasonable temperatures, to the 70s and 80s in general. A few late showers are possible Saturday night. Sunday is trending dry. Next week will be warm and sunny with dry weather expected.
