Windy today for southern Colorado. Wind gusts in the 40 mph range will be likely from the mountains to the plains. The eastern plains will see the strongest gusts in excess of 60 mph today. A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect until 5 pm for Baca county due to this potential.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 49; Low: 17. Strong winds today with partly cloudy conditions.

PUEBLO: High: 53; Low: 18. Still mild temperature-wise today but gusty.

CANON CITY: High: 52; Low: 20. Still mild today but very windy through the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 37; Low: 12. Chillier today with strong winds.

TRI-LAKES: High: 40s; Low: teens. Low to mid-40s with strong winds today.

PLAINS: High: 50s; Low: teens/20s. A high wind warning is in effect for Baca county until 5 pm. Blowing dust is possible across the plains.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 40s; Low: teens. Upper-40s with sunshine and strong winds all day.

MOUNTAINS: High: 30s; Low: single digits/teens. Chilly with a clearing sky today and gusty winds.

Extended Outlook:
Sunday will be about 5 degrees cooler with much lighter winds. High pressure takes over and warms us through the first half of next week. Later in the week, there will be a strong cold front with snow chances returning early Thursday.
