Windy & cooler today, warming up early next week

Today's Forecast:
A windy start to our Sunday will give way to weakening winds and plenty of sunshine by the afternoon. Highs will be a little cooler than Saturday, and generally speaking, below average for this time of the year.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 39; Low: 18. Windy and cooler today across the Pikes Peak Region. Clear skies will continue through the evening hours as lows drop down to the teens.

PUEBLO: High: 44; Low: 16. Breezy and sunny on Sunday, with below average highs in our forecast. Clear skies will continue tonight, with overnight lows in the teens.

CANON CITY: High: 43; Low: 22. Today's weather will be chilly and windy, with gusts to 35 mph. Highs will warm into the lower 40s, with lows tonight in the lower 20s.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 33; Low: 15. The sun is back in a big way today for Teller County. The wind will be a factor in the forecast, with peak gusts to 35 mph.

TRI-LAKES: High: 30s; Low: 10s. Sunny skies, cooler than average highs and gusty winds can be expected today across northern El Paso County. Highs will warm into the middle 30s, with lows tonight dropping down to the teens.

PLAINS: High: 40s; Low: 10s. Sunday's forecast will be cool and windy across the Plains. Highs today will only warm into the 40s, with lows tonight dropping down to the teens.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 30s/40s; Low: 10s. The snow has cleared out of the region this morning, leaving us foggy in some areas. Sunshine is expected by the afternoon as highs warm into the upper 30s and lower 40s.

MOUNTAINS: High: 20s/30s; Low: 0s/10s. Bright and windy across the mountains today, with gusts to 45 mph, and highs in the 20s and 30s.

Extended Outlook:
Monday's forecast will be bright, breezy and warmer as a ridge of high pressure builds into Southern Colorado. The warm-up will continue through Tuesday as highs top out in the 50s and 60s. Those warm temperatures will be short-lived however as the potential for a more potent storm moves into the forecast Wednesday afternoon, with areas of snow expected through Thursday morning.
