Windy and warm for the plains Saturday; snow in the mountains

Today’s Forecast:
Strong southwest winds will provide snow to the mountains and warming downsloping winds to the plains today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 52; Low: 19. Breezy today with strong wind gusts at times, warming quickly.

PUEBLO: High: 58; Low: 21. Very mild today with gusty winds.

CANON CITY: High: 58; Low: 24. Windy today with mild temperatures.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 40; Low: 16. Gusty today with partly cloudy conditions and warmer than average.

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: teens. Low 50s today with periodic strong wind gusts.

PLAINS: High: 50s; Low: 20s. Breezy today and very warm to the upper 50s and a few 60s possible.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 50s; Low: teens. Very windy today with gusts in excess of 40 mph at times. Highs in the mid-50s.

MOUNTAINS: High: 30s; Low: single digits/teens. Southwest facing slopes will see a couple of inches of snow through the day in the Sangres and eastern San Juans as well as the Sawatch range. Wind gusts will be up to 50 mph.

Extended Outlook:
A cold front arrives tonight that will bring cold air to the plains. Some of the snow showers in the mountains will move into the plains but will remain light. Monday and Tuesday stay cold with periodic light snow.
