Extreme winds on Saturday with calm conditions returning Sunday

Today’s Forecast: High wind warnings expire by 3 pm for counties along I-25. In the mountains and eastern Kiowa county, warnings will expire by 5 or 6 pm. On the downslope side of the wind, temperatures will warm to the 40s or 50s. In the mountains, temperatures stay cold in the 20s and 30s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 42; Low: 15. Very windy with gusts in the 60 mph range until 3 pm. Cold, clear and calm by tonight.

PUEBLO: High: 47; Low: 14. Very windy with gusts in the 60 mph range until 3 pm. The parade of lights will be cold with much calmer winds.

CANON CITY: High: 42; Low: 18. Windy with gusts in the 60 mph range until 3 pm. Cold, clear and calm by tonight.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 30; Low: 10. Very windy with gusts in the 60-70 mph range until 6 pm. Today will stay cold, especially with a wind chill factor.

TRI-LAKES: High: 30s; Low: teens. Very windy with gusts in the 60 mph range until 3 pm. Cold, clear and calm by tonight.

PLAINS: High: 40s/50s; Low: teens/20s. Not as windy, except in the far eastern Plains near the Kansas border. Mild temperature and sunshine.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 40s; Low: teens. Very windy with gusts in the 60 mph range until 3 pm. Cold, clear and calm by tonight.

Extended Outlook:
Sunday will be a great weather day, with sunshine and light winds. Temperatures will be seasonable in the 40s for most areas. Into next week, temperatures boost to the 40s, 50s, and even some 60s in the Plains on Monday. Mild and sunny conditions continue through most of next week.
