Warmer on Wednesday, with high fire danger

Tonight's Forecast: Nice and pleasant weather on tap tonight for Southern Colorado. Skies will be partly cloudy, with light wind and seasonably mild lows.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 39; High: 70. Warm and just a little breezy on Wednesday, with near perfect springtime highs across the Pikes Peak Region.

PUEBLO: Low: 38; High: 77. Sunshine early will give way to a partly to mostly cloudy afternoon, with upper 70s for highs.

CANON CITY: Low: 42; High: 76. Sunshine early, with increasing clouds for the afternoon hours. Highs on Wednesday will soar into the middle 70s.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 33; High: 61. Wednesday will be one of the warmest days of the year, with highs warming into the lower 60s.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 30s; High: 60s. After sunshine early, skies will turn cloudy for the afternoon as temperatures rise well into the 60s.

PLAINS: Low: 30s; High: 70s/80s. Wednesday's weather will be warm and windy, with highs topping out in the 70s and lower 80s. Red Flag Warnings for Las Animas and Baca counties wil begin at noon.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 30s/40s; High: 70s. Dry fuels, low relative humidity and a warm and windy forecast will trigger Red Flag Warnings on Wednesday from noon to 8 pm.

Extended Outlook: High fire danger will continue on Thursday for southeastern parts of Colorado, including Walsenburg and Trinidad. Thursday night's storm is still on track to bring areas of rain and snow to Southern Colorado. As colder air funnels in, lingering snow flurries will be possible through Friday morning. The rest of our Friday will be dry and cold, with a healthy spring warm-up to follow this weekend.
