Warm and sunny weekend ahead before powerful Monday cold front

Today’s Forecast: A chilly start will be followed with a warm afternoon. Temperatures are about 15 degrees above average on the Plains and in the mountains. Most of southern Colorado will be in the 60s and 70s today, to the 40s and 50s in the high country.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 72; Low: 36. Sunny and warm today. Winds will be light.

PUEBLO: High: 75; Low: 34. It will be a sunny day, feeling very warm this afternoon.

CANON CITY: High: 73; Low: 37. Very warm today with plenty of sunshine. Winds will be light.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 65; Low: 32. A bit breezy today, with warm temperatures. Enjoy the sunshine!

TRI-LAKES: High: 60s; Low: 30s. Upper 60s are expected in the Tri-lakes, with sunshine today. Tonight will drop to the mid 30s.

PLAINS: High: 70s; Low: 30s. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s today with sunshine and light winds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 30s. Walsenburg and Trinidad will be in the low 70s today with sunshine.

Extended Outlook: A weak cold front tonight will leave Sunday about 10 degrees cooler, but still sunny and perfect weather to spend outdoors. Sunday night into early Monday morning comes the big cool down. Temperatures will drop through the day Monday, likely staying near or below freezing. Some morning light snow is possible, favoring areas south of HWY 50 from I-25 to the Plains. While accumulations will be light, the AM commute may be slick.
