Tracking the next cold front for Colorado arriving tonight

A cold start will be followed with a beautiful afternoon. Mountain valleys and the high GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY SUNDAY. WE ARE STARTING CHILLY, NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING. EXPECT PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TODAY WITH PERIODS OF PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE 50S BY LUNCH TIME, THEN REACH THE 40S AND 50S IN THE MOUNTAINS AND MOUNTAIN VALLEYS. THE FRONT RANGE AND THE PLAINS WILL MAKE IT TO THE 50S AND 60S TODAY. THE MOUNTAINS WILL BE BREEZY TODAY AS WELL AS COLORADO SPRINGS AND SOUTH TO TRINIDAD AND WALSENBURG. A COLD FRONT ARRIVES THIS EVENING AND DROPS TEMPERATURES FOR MONDAY. TOMORROW WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY, BUT WE ARE NOT LIKELY TO SEE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION FROM THIS FRONT. MONDAY'S HIGHS WILL BE 5-10 DEGREES COOLER THAN TODAY. THEN TEMPERATURES CLIMB BACK UP TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY TO SEASONABLE LEVELS. 50S AND 60S ARE IN THE FORECAST THROUGH MID-WEEK. THE NEXT COLD FRONT ARRIVES WEDNESDAY NIGHT, BRINGING CLOUDS AND COOLER WEATHER WITH IT FOR THURSDAY. A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS TO THE SOUTHERN I-25 CORRIDOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT TO THURSDAY MORNING. THOSE IMPACTS WILL BE MINIMAL IN THE MOUNTAINS AND PIKES PEAK REGION. PUEBLO MAY SEE ISOLATED PRECIPITATION THURSDAY MORNING. AFTER THAT, TEMPERATURES REBOUND AGAIN FRIDAY AND THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH SUNSHINE AND 50S AND 60S.

Tracking the next cold front for Colorado arriving tonight

Today’s Forecast: A cold start will be followed with a beautiful afternoon. Mountain valleys and the high country will be in the 30s, 40s, and low 50s. The front range to the Plains will be in the 50s and 60s today. Sunshine reigns free, with light wind in the Plains, breezy conditions along the front range and in the mountains.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 56; Low: 26. Sunny and seasonable today. Winds will be slightly breezy.

PUEBLO: High: 57; Low: 24. It will be a sunny day after morning clouds clear. Winds will be light.

CANON CITY: High: 58; Low: 30. Mild today with plenty of sunshine. Winds will be breezy.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 50; Low: 24. A bit breezy today, with warmer temperatures. Enjoy the sunshine!

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 20s. Low 50s are expected in the Tri-lakes, with sunshine. Tonight will drop to the mid 20s.

PLAINS: High: 50s/60s; Low: 20s/30s. Temperatures will reach the 50s and 60s today with sunshine and light winds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 50s; Low: 20s/30s. Walsenburg and Trinidad will be in the 50s today with sunshine and gusty winds.

Extended Outlook: A dry cold front arrives tonight, leaving Monday partly cloudy and cooler. Warm temperatures return mid-week, back to the 50s and 60s Tuesday and Wednesday. The next cold front arrives Wednesday night and has better potential for precipitation. The southeast Plains and the southern I-25 corridor south of HWY 50 may see some rain or a wintry mix Wednesday night to Thursday morning. We will continue to monitor that potential.
