Stormy Sunday evening ahead with possible severe weather

Today’s Forecast:
Weather alert today for strong thunderstorms possible. Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely, with isolated severe storms possible. Hail and strong winds will be found in the strongest storms today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 85; Low: 56. Partly cloudy and feeling cooler Sunday. Thunderstorms possible after 3 pm.

PUEBLO: High: 88; Low: 59. Staying below the 90s tomorrow with clouds. Thunderstorms possible after 4 pm.

CANON CITY: High: 86; Low: 61. Cooler with clouds on Sunday with thunderstorms possible after 1 pm.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 78; Low: 49. Comfortable Sunday with clouds and thunderstorms possible after 1 pm.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Low 80s on Sunday with clouds. Thunderstorms are possible after 3 pm.

PLAINS: High: 80s/90s; Low: 50s/60s. The cold front will keep most of the plains in the upper 80s, with a few low 90s possible along the Arkansas River. Strong thunderstorms possible after sunset.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Mid to upper 80s tomorrow with thunderstorms possible after 3 pm.

Extended Outlook:
Monday will still have enough humidity and energy coming in from the jet stream to prompt strong afternoon thunderstorms. We are watching Tuesday for this potential as well. Later next week, pop up afternoon thunderstorms are still in the daily planner but will trend weaker.
