Smoke lingers in Colorado Friday but clears out this weekend

Today’s Forecast:
An air quality alert remains in place this morning for portions of the front range and eastern plains due to wildfire smoke reducing air quality. In the News 5 viewing area, this includes El Paso, Pueblo, Teller, Custer, Fremont, Otero, Crowley, Prowers, Bent, and Baca counties.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 83; Low: 54. Still hazy today with sun and warmth.

PUEBLO: High: 87; Low: 53. Hot and hazy today with dry weather.

CANON CITY: High: 85; Low: 59. A very warm day with hazy skies and dry conditions.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 73; Low: 49. Beautiful day with warm and dry conditions, and a bit of haze lingering.

TRI-LAKES: High: 70s; Low: 50s. Upper 70s today with hazy skies and dry weather.

PLAINS: High: 80s/90s; Low: 50s. Upper 80s and low 90s in the eastern plains. The sky will remain hazy. Low to mid 50s tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Mid 80s today with a slight haze in the sky and mostly sunny conditions.

Extended Outlook:
The smoke will be clearing out Saturday with a blue sky returning for the last weekend of summer. The air quality will improve for those of you hoping to partake in outdoor activities. Temperatures will be about 10 degrees above average over the weekend.
