High fire danger and strong winds remain on Sunday

Today’s Forecast:
Today will be very warm with very high fire danger. A RED FLAG WARNING is posted for the entire region, with wind gusts up to 50 mph and humidity dropping below 10-15%.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 86; Low: 52. Quite warm today with full sunshine. Winds will pick up through the day, sustained 15-25 mph, gusting to 40-50 mph.

PUEBLO: High: 92; Low: 57. Hot today with sunshine. Winds will be sustained from the SW 15-20 mph and gusting to 45 mph.

CANON CITY: High: 87; Low: 55. Hot today and dry, with lots of sun. Winds will be gusting up to 50 mph.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 75; Low: 44. A mild day ahead and likely to stay dry. Winds will gust up to 40-50 mph.

TRI-LAKES: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Mid 70s today with full sunshine. Winds will be breezy, gusting up to 40-50 mph.

PLAINS: High: 90s/100s; Low: 60s. Upper 90s and 100s today with strong winds all day long.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s/90s; Low: 50s. Upper 80s in Walsenburg and low 90s in Trinidad. Gusty winds up to 50 mph.

Extended Outlook:
Monday a fire weather watch is in place, with another gusty and dry day expected. On Monday night a cold front will move through southern Colorado and leave Tuesday much cooler, to the 60s and 70s. Only light precipitation is likely along the front early Tuesday morning. Temperatures will climb back to average as soon as Wednesday.
