Tonight’s Forecast:

After an active week of thunderstorms, the atmosphere is starting to make some changes. The Eastern Plains still have a good chemistry of moisture and energy while the mountains have been drying out. A few thunderstorms will develop along and near the Kansas border this evening and will eventually move into Kansas completely overnight. Lows will drop into the 50s and 60s along I-25 and the Plains, with lows in the 30s and 40s for the higher mountain valleys.

As drier air continues to work into the state on a Northwest flow, our overnight lows will be on the cooler, but comfortable side. That also makes for the potential of our afternoon high temps to soar. With little cloud cover on Sunday and a relatively quiet weather scenario, we will once again look to break records along I-25 in Colorado Springs & Pueblo. Highs will be 94 and 100 respectively.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 56, High: 94. Decreasing clouds tonight and comfortable sleeping weather! Lows in the mid-50s. Sunny and hot on Sunday with record-setting temperatures. Highs near 94, which would tie the existing record.

PUEBLO: Low: 57, High: 100. Decreasing clouds tonight and comfortable sleeping weather! Lows in the upper 50s. Sunny and hot on Sunday with record-setting temperatures. Highs near 100, which break the old record of 98.

CANON CITY: Low: 59, High: 99. Decreasing clouds tonight and comfortable sleeping weather! Lows near 60. Sunny and hot on Sunday with temperatures near 100 and occasionally gusty winds.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 50, High: 83. Decreasing clouds tonight and comfortable sleeping weather! Lows near 50. Sunny and warm on Sunday with temperatures near 83 and occasionally gusty winds.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 50s, High: 80s. Decreasing clouds tonight and comfortable sleeping weather! Lows in the lower 50s. Sunny and hot on Sunday with temperatures in the upper 80s and an occasionally gusty winds.

PLAINS: Low: 60s, High: 90s/100s. Any thunderstorms on the far Eastern Plains will exit the area overnight. Otherwise, decreasing clouds and comfortable sleeping weather, with lows in the 60s. Sunny and hot on Sunday with temperatures in the upper 90s and lower 100s with occasionally gusty winds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 40s, High: 90s. Mostly clear tonight with temperatures in the 60s. Increasing clouds on Tuesday afternoon with isolated chances for thunderstorms. Highs in the 90s.

Extended Outlook:
On Monday, a cold front slides through the State, but it looks to come in dry while simultaneously cooling our afternoon highs by about 10 degrees. Tuesday is when we can expect showers and thunderstorms back in the forecast. With an upslope flow of wind and an increase of surface moisture, expect scattered showers and storms for Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday will shift the weather pattern once again as we turn the monsoonal moisture from the pacific back in, bringing in isolated chances of thunderstorms to the state from Wednesday through next weekend.
