Record breaking heat expected Friday in southern Colorado

Isolated showers will dissipate by 9-10 pm. Tonight will be partly cloudy and mild.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 56; High: 92. The record high tomorrow stands at 92, and we may tie or break that record. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible.

PUEBLO: Low: 56; High: 100. The record high tomorrow stands at 100, and we may tie or break that record. Isolated thunderstorm possible.

CANON CITY: Low: 59; High: 96. Potentially record heat tomorrow and becoming dry. Isolated thunderstorm possible.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 48; High: 83. Unseasonably warm tomorrow with partly cloudy conditions. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 50s; High: 80s. Mid 80s expected tomorrow with a lot of sun. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible.

PLAINS: Low: 60s; High: 100s. HOT and Toasty tomorrow with possible record heat. Any afternoon thunderstorms will be few and far between.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 50s; High: 90s. Likely dry and HOT tomorrow into the mid to upper 90s, near record breaking.

Extended Outlook:
Saturday will be about 5-10 degrees cooler with a better chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains. Fire weather conditions start to increase Saturday in the plains. Fire danger becomes widespread in southern Colorado Sunday as heat and dry air increase once again.
