More heat and fire danger to start the week

The hot and dry weather pattern persists to start this week. Red flag warnings are in place for the eastern plains up to I-25, into the Arkansas river basin in Fremont and Chaffee county, and through the San Luis Valley. Humidity will drop less than 15%. Winds may gust up to 40 mph.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 92; Low: 58. Hot today with breezy winds and low humidity. Red Flag Warning.

PUEBLO: High: 99; Low: 61. Very hot today with dry air and breezy winds. Red Flag Warning.

CANON CITY: High: 96; Low: 61. Hot today with sunshine. Winds will be breezy. Red Flag Warning.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 80; Low: 51. Humidity will be high enough to prevent a red flag warning, but temperatures will still be very warm.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Mid 80s today with sun and breezy winds. Red Flag Warning.

PLAINS: High: 90s/100s; Low: 60s. Very hot with strong winds. Isolated shower possible in Las Animas or Baca county. Red Flag Warning.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s/90s; Low: 60s. Hot and gusty today. An isolated shower is possible this afternoon, with little moisture expected. Red Flag Warning.

Extended Outlook:
More red flag warnings in the same spots are likely on Tuesday, and perhaps on Wednesday as the weather pattern stays the same. Thursday morning a cold front will move in and drop daily highs by about 5-10 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms are more likely in the back half of the week.
